SR 84 Bridge Erection Over I-95

The new WB SR84 bridge over I-95 is now in place!! As part of the I-95 3C Express Lanes project, this BCC-designed bridge was entirely constructed alongside the NB lanes of I-95 and moved into place using self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs) over a period of approximately 2 months. The bridge is a 209’ single-span steel I-girder bridge weighing approximately 1500 tons. This accelerated bridge construction method helped to limit impacts to the traveling public.
