The project also includes the reconstruction of 15 interchanges, reconstruction of the auxiliary and general use lanes, and the addition of two new express lanes in each direction with dynamic toll pricing. Additional enhancements include a world-class signature pedestrian bridge, accent lighting, fountain illumination art sculptures and monuments, landscaping, and monumental direct-connect pylons for the bridge architecture.
As part of the Owners Construction Representative team that performs Construction Oversight Services (COS), our personnel are responsible for the review and coordination of all construction engineering, administrative functions, Independent Assurance (IA), and Owner Testing (OT) materials testing. Our role on this contract also includes coordination amongst numerous stakeholders and public agencies, management of the design submittal and review process, construction oversight, schedule analysis, materials testing and certification, project reports, document control, procurement assistance, shop drawing and RFI reviews, and certification of monthly payments to the contractor.
The project consists of the reconstruction of 21 miles of I-4 from west of Kirkman Road in Orange County to east of State Road 434 in Seminole County. Work is being performed on 140 permanent structures, including 53 new bridges, 13 widenings and 74 replacement bridges. The project is being built as a Public-Private Partnership (P3) and will be designed and built over a 7-year period.
