The Project is located in the City of Sunrise, Broward County, and bounded by N. University Drive (State Road), to the west by N Pine Island Road (County Road), to the south by SW 20th CT, and to the north by NW 29th Street.
A Basis of Design Report was prepared to present the decision, assumption, and design parameters to develop 100% construction documents for the project. BCC Engineering performed reviews of existing GIS files, as-builts, topographic survey, and geotechnical reports; provided utility coordination and evaluated existing conditions utilizing the Water GEMS Model. BCC also designed stormwater improvements to address localized flooding along streets where the water mains would be replaced. Services also include the preparation of permit application packages for jurisdictional agencies, bidding assistance, and limited construction administration services.
The project involves designing water mains replacements for aging 6-inch to 12-inch PVC, 6-inch through 10-inch asbestos cement force mains, upsizing existing 2-inch and 4-inch water mains and designing exfiltration trenches to address localized flooding within the project boundary.
