This Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) project involves providing Design-Build services for the installation of approximately 8,800 linear feet of 48-inch diameter Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe (PCCP) transmission water main along SW 117th Avenue to connect to the county’s new, 36-inch diameter water transmission main project at SW 152nd Street and SW 127th Avenue. The purpose of this project is to enhance Miami-Dade WASD’s water service reliability and address water pressure deficiencies in the county’s southern service area. BCC’s scope of work included plan-profile design of the 48-inch diameter water main, permitting through various agencies to allow construction, and coordination between WASD, the contractor, and various sub-consultants.
BCC’s scope includes coordination of survey, geotechnical services, utility relocation, and inter-agency coordination to phase construction activities with ongoing projects within the project limits, development of complete engineering plans and specifications. BCC’s scope included resurfacing, signalization and pavement markings, traffic control plans, and construction administration services which included shop drawing reviews, responding to RFI’s, plans reviews and revisions, QA/QC, As-Built certification, and Project Close-Out.
